Buffalo Niagara International is located 12 miles from downtown Buffalo and 23 miles from Niagara Falls. The ride to Buffalo city center averages about 20 minutes. What is the airport code? BUF The airport serves the Buffalo Niagara region. This airport serves the greater Atlanta and Marietta metropolitan area. Over 5,000,000 passengers were served in 2006. The airport operates 220 commercial flights and 49 air taxi operations per day. BUF has one terminal with 25 gates, all beyond security, arranged along a long a bright east/west concourse with wide corridors. The airport has 2 runways, ranging between 7000 feet and 9000 feet in length. The "Buffalo Municipal Airport" which has now become the "The Buffalo-Niagara International Airport" was built in 1926. After a reconstruction in the 90's it was renamed as "The Buffalo-Niagara International Airport" in November 1997. From the center of Buffalo, take Route 33 East/Kensington Express. From elsewhere in New York State, take the I-90 (NYS Thruway East) and leave at exit 51 to join Route 33 East-Kensington Expressway. From the Rainbow Bridge (Niagara Falls) follow signs to the Robert Moses Parkway east, take the Robert Moses to the 190 south to the 290 east, to the 90 west, take the 90 west to the 33 east, follow 33 east to the end of the expressway.
Short-term parking increments are at $3/hour, with a daily maximum of $20 (tax not included). The long-term parking options range from $8.75 to $10 per day with the weekly maximum being $40. Free shuttles operate between the parking lot and the terminal. There is no satellite parking at the airport. There are various bars, restaurants, fast-food outlets and snack bars, vending machines.
